The Expungement Assistant Tool
Use the Expungement Assistant tool to make a preliminary assessment on whether you have a record which is eligible for expungment under Georgia law by clicking HERE.
The Georgia state legislature no longer uses the term expungement. Instead, the Georgia Code uses the term "record restriction," to more accurately describe the process by which criminal records are not purged or destroyed, but rather made invisible to most criminal background checks. Not all criminal records qualify for a record restriction. As of July 2013, however, the Georgia legislature has revised its record restriction laws which makes it easier to obtain record restrictions.
